Obituary for Dale "Skeeter" Ameling

Dale “Skeeter” Ameling, age 75, of Bowling Green, OH passed away on Christmas Morning, Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 9, 1944, in Woodville, OH to Paul E. and Viola E. (Herman) Ameling. Skeeter graduated from Eastwood High School in 1962. He married Eulitta “Witt” Wensel on May 23, 1964 in Pemberville, OH. Skeeter and Witt have raised 3 sons and celebrated over 55 years of marriage together. In addition to being a farmer, Skeeter worked for Champion Sparkplug for 25 plus years and later for a tool and Die company in Toledo, and eventually as a Supervisor at Horizon in Tiffin for an additional 12 plus years before he retired. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville. In addition to farming, Skeeter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Family came first in his life, including attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. It was his family that gave him the most joy.

In addition to his wife Witt, Skeeter is survived by his sons: Dean Ameling, Dana Ameling and Don (Tammie) Ameling all of Bowling Green. Grandchildren: Andy (Cassie) Ameling of Sylvania, Kirsten Ameling, Kara Ameling and Kennedy Ameling, all of Bowling Green, Reagan Boice and Ryder Boice of Perrysburg, Sarah Ameling and Sydney Ameling both of Bowling Green. Sister: Ruth Phillips of Pemberville and brother: Charles (Wilma) Ameling of Portage. He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Family and friends will be received 3 - 8 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2019 with aditional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Budke. Interment will take place in the Webster Township Cemetery, Scotch Ride, Ohio. Memorials may take the form of contributions to: Hospice of Northwest Ohio. A bereavement luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville, immediately following the cemetery committal service. The family wants to extend a special thank you to the staff of caregivers at the Maurer Cancer Center in Bowling Green. Lynette Kemner, for all her help and thoughtfulness to Skeeter and the family.
