Obituary for Elmer J. Toensing

Elmer J. Toensing, age 75, of Woodville, OH, passed away Saturday evening, December 28, 2019, at Eden Springs Rehabilitation Center in Green Springs, OH. He was born October 11, 1944 to Marvin and Rose (Dismuke) Toensing in Toledo, OH. He married Lois E. Evans on July 7, 1973 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Genoa, OH. Elmer and Lois have raised two children and celebrated over 46 years of marriage together. Elmer worked at Atlas Industries in Fremont making crank shafts for 30 plus years before he retired. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, riding his bike and mowing his as well as others lawn. However, it was his family that brought him the most joy in life, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Lois, Elmer is survived by his daughter: Beth (Ryan) Tallman of Walbridge. Grandchildren: Chase Tallman and Peyten Tallman both of Walbridge. Daughter-in-law: Tamsen Toensing, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, both of his step-parents, and his son: Patrick Toensing.

Elmer will be laid to rest at a later date to be announced, in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH. Memorials may take the form of contributions to: the family c/o Lois Toensing. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, share a memory or photo may do so at
